Driving home from school yesterday, I saw a beautiful, new, shiny black BMW.
Well, It's not just a BMW, it's the 2008 3-Series Sedan BMW.
The license plate simply said:
GO
Now, that's either obvious or a taunt. A shiny black BMW with a "GO" license plate doesn't drive 55. That got me to thinking about license plates we would never see on a BMW.
SIT
STAY
SLOW
If I had a BMW, my license plate would read (if I was brave enough): CATCHME

Davao - "Little Japan"
Madayaw na adlaw! As Davaoeños would say... In English, Good day!. Yep I'm in Davao na - the 2nd largest city in the world in terms of land area. I'm loving my vacation here. Davao is more laid back than Cebu. A lot of things are different. In the city proper it's a no smoking place. You will be arrested if you do. I think everybody can quit smoking here quickly and effectively. There is no choice left for you. Even in bars and parks, no one is smoking! Can u believe it! Amazing! thats why I like staying here. Plus the city is less polluted, the roads are wider and I can hardly see beggars. I cannot feel the scarcity of rice here in Davao. I think because there is a large area of rice plantation here plus the Government officials are good. They don't allow their people to suffer. The people are mix of muslim, Chinese and tribal influences. Koreans are growing in numbers too, they share the streets with the much more numerous ordinary Davaoeñ0s struggling to make a living. I will include myself sooner or later.
I have a new discovery. Davao is called as "Little Japan" - It has a long Japanese history and until now Japan and Davao has strong ties. If you do like to come and visit here, I can be your tourist guide! if u like. Service charge is negotiable. wink2! =) I also visited a couple of bars here and most of them offer live music. This weekend I will explore the nearby islands of Samal. I heard the area offers clear water, beautiful, healthy corals and even wreck diving. I need to learn how to dive na!!! I cant afford to miss the beauty and wonders of the under water.
Leave comments pls. =)

AM I AN IT PROFESSIONAL???
Being able to graduate from college from a four-year course in the field of Information and Communications Technology is a good basis to be called an IT Professional. Most of the students after they graduate will go the real world and grab any opportunity that will come their way regardless of the relevance of the job to their field. In the long run, there is a possibility that they can forget what they have studied in college. Like me, I graduated in Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) as Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. A month after I graduated I found a job in a Japanese Company and spent 2 years working as a Production Control Staff. My job didn’t require me much of the complexity of Information Technology. Initially, I forgot how to make a program. I forgot how to format a disk, I was so way behind the trends of IT. After 5 years of working in the industry that is not related to my field, what can you expect of me now?
The reason why I took up masters degree is to be able to get myself back to the field where I feel I belong. I was a lost sheep for 5 years trying to earn an income. Doing what is expected from me without loving my job. But now I feel that I have the chance to start all over again. Picking up the pieces one by one even though it means that being insulted by my instructors for not being able to identify what is input device from output device. Even if it hurts to be laughed at not being able to make a simple C++ program that will let you input and display 2 numbers. But if this is what it takes to become a dignified IT professional then why not??? I don’t care the insults, I don’t care about the shame. I know at the end of this semester, I will be able to learn more and I will be able to call myself an IT PROFESSIONAL – heads up!
